What we love

Just how well-crafted and creative this design is. Some of the most popular Email of the Month winners have featured animated gifs that give campaigns life and make everything more vibrant. This email belongs as part of that elite! Click the image to see the animation in action.

This month I wanted to focus on bold design. This email achieves such a pleasing palette, which is dazzling in the amount of color, featuring pink and turquoise content, as well as red and brown backgrounds. Everything is there for maximum impact and everything works beautifully together. A great example of effective color mixing.

Another thing to point out with this design is that your brand does not have to be very colorful or crazy itself. Check out SFJAZZ’s website, which features a subdued greyscale with touches of green. Email campaigns are the perfect opportunity to get creative and learn from your audience. How well would your audience respond to a fun, animated email?

Try these techniques

Experiment

Use the A/B testing feature to try different designs. Go for a colorful design versus something less so. Try animated and non-animated. See if your audience reacts to one and start adapting! Testing is always key for learning what your subscribers want.

Preferences? Use themes!

Do you have subscribers divided by their preferences? Start creating a differentiating color or style. With larger databases you have a lot of room for getting creative. Although each preference group is part of your large subscriber base, each one can have its own identity. Make each group feel unique!
